FT Fixed Series Design Features
Adjustable Alignment Bar
FT Models feature an adjustable alignment bar to keep two or more IFT Single Skates in alignment. The alignment bar keeps the FT Models moving straight and true while transporting a heavy machine. By keeping the FT units running straight and in a consistent direction, the alignment bar minimizes the stress on the urethane rollers and the frame of the FT Models as well. For machine moves which require a small width between the rear tandem units, a single alignment bar section can be utilized.
Heavy Duty Strut Design
FT Models are built for heavy, rugged, industrial use and feature a thick, robot-welded strut between each set of durable urethane rollers. The substantial strut ensures that the axles do not warp, bend or possibly even fail under extreme loading. Additionally, the tough, thick struts increase the strength and stability throughout the overall frame of the FT units. Lastly, the heavy duty strut helps promote a straight and consistent condition in the rolling characteristics of the FT Models.
Low Profile for Ease of Positioning
FT Models, like all Machine Skates made by TPX Machine Skates™, feature the low profile, low clearance characteristic that is so helpful when moving a heavy machine. The remarkably low 4.25 inch height of the FT units mean that the load only has to be raised a few inches in order for the FT Models to be properly positioned under the machine being transported. Raising and stabilizing a heavy load can be a challenge, so using low profile FT Models keeps the distance a load needs to be lifted to a minimum.
Easy Access Adjusting Set Screw
FT Models feature the fully adjustable alignment bar shown above. The alignment bar provides a range of widths in the distance between the units connected along the bar. The distance between each unit is fixed in place with a simple, robust set screw (actually a 3/4 bolt). The easy-to-adjust set screw is conveniently located on the back of each individual unit. The easy access to the adjusting screw provides the user with a quick and convenient way to tweak the distance between the individual units of the FT Models.
Mix & Match Capability
FT Models feature a low profile, low clearance design with a uniform height of 4.25 inches from the flooring surface. The consistent height across all models provides the user with a mix & match capability, allowing the FT Models to be used in conjunction with any of the other models. The FT Models are commonly paired with the ST Steerable Skates to create the SFT 3-Point System. For maximum turning and rotating capability, many users like to utilize the RT Rotating Skates.
